7.1.3: Error installing sounds (on Mac OS 10.8.4 system) I am assuming that the utility is either trying to write to some folder outside of the Avid folder, or there is an error in the internal script of what directory it is looking for. Has anyone seen this error, and more specifically is there guidance in getting around it.

I have done that (although the permissions were correctly set) and still I cannot run the utility.Īvid support is useless in that they are demanding that I purchase an ASC number just to contact them, and the makers of the installer utility (Pando) say "check you permissions", and send us your system logs, with instructions on how to do that for Windows (not much help). The recommended remedy is to check and reset the permissions on the Avid folder. The Avid knowledge base does not mention this error, but does have some reference to issues installing sounds. I am the administrator of this machine, and I have run all diagnostics such as Repairing Permissions, restarting etc, but the error persists. Whenever I run the installer utility I am getting an error as follows "Error creating installation directory". I am now trying to run the installer for Sounds. I have successfully downloaded all installers, and have run the installer for Sibelius itself, and have run, and registered the software. I have just purchased the trade-up from Sibelius First to Sibelius 7 (Mac OS).
